Discussion on "Global Carbon Neutralization and China’s Responsibility" The 2021 Zero Carbon Mission International Climate Summit opened in Beijing.
On September 22, 2020, China proposed at the 75th session of the United Nations General Assembly that peak carbon dioxide emissions should be achieved in 2030 and carbon neutrality should be achieved in 2060.
In order to actively promote the realization of national carbon neutrality vision and global temperature control goal, Phoenix Satellite TV and the World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF) hosted the 2021 Zero Carbon Mission International Climate Summit on September 22-24, 2021, with the theme of "Global Carbon Neutralization and China’s Responsibility". The summit was co-sponsored by Phoenix Net, Phoenix Metropolitan Media, Beijing Entrepreneur Environmental Protection Foundation (SEE Foundation), Avenue Climate Change Promotion Center (CTeam) and Public Environmental Research Center (IPE), and Britain participated as the president of COP 26 United Nations Climate Conference.

They shared and discussed topics such as global carbon neutrality, corporate climate ambition, green finance, energy transformation, green buildings and low-carbon transportation, aiming to gather resources from all sides. Fully mobilize the enthusiasm of enterprises to participate in the response to climate change, and provide diversified guidance and services for local governments and enterprises in the process of achieving the goals of peak carbon dioxide emissions and carbon neutrality, such as strategic planning, technology application, achievement display, knowledge sharing and international exchange.

In the opening speech session, He Daguang, executive vice president and chief innovation officer of Phoenix Satellite TV, first indicated that Phoenix Satellite TV regards the concept of carbon neutrality as its own responsibility in international communication. In the future, Phoenix Satellite TV will continue to build a larger zero-carbon mission exchange platform in conjunction with various cooperative organizations.

Subsequently, Kyle Rambotti, Director-General of WWF, pointed out that today’s summit marked a change in climate action, and the future should focus on the scale and speed of low-carbon development. People should change their thinking and cherish nature. All countries in the world should take action and make full use of natural resources to help cope with climate change.

Jia feng, director of the mission center of the Ministry of Ecology and Environment, came by bike.
Jia Feng, director of the Publicity and Education Center of the Ministry of Ecology and Environment, said that "it takes ten years to plant trees and a hundred years to educate people", and we should learn from China’s wisdom to deal with climate change. The world needs to help each other in the same boat, face the crisis with common but differentiated responsibilities, and jointly build a community of human destiny with the concept of ecological civilization.

Later, Chang Kai-yan, coordinator of the United Nations system in China, also delivered a speech for the 2021 Zero Carbon Mission International Climate Summit. Chang Kai-yan pointed out that China’s statement is completely consistent with China’s commitment, and these goals have been closely integrated with China’s 14th Five-Year Plan. China’s strong political will will bring new inspiration to other countries’ governments, enterprises and non-governmental organizations.

Subsequently, former US Vice President Al Gore also gave a congratulatory speech for the summit. He put forward three points on how to phase out fossil fuels in the near future: first, the government and business leaders need to make bold plans to reduce greenhouse gas emissions. Second, we must promote a fair transition from coal and natural gas to clean energy. Third, we must ensure that developing countries are provided with fast and equal financial support so that they can transform into a clean energy economy.
Next, the forum entered a round-table discussion on the theme of "Exploring the route of international cooperation under the goal of’ double carbon’".

Xu Huaqing, director of the National Center for Strategic Research and International Cooperation on Climate Change, pointed out that in the face of unbalanced and insufficient development, China borrowed some practices from the European Union, requiring the developed coastal areas in the east to take the lead in realizing the peak carbon dioxide emissions and make room for the less developed areas in the central and western regions.

Lu Lunyan, chief representative of WWF (Switzerland) Beijing Representative Office, believes that the status and role of coal-fired power in primary energy may also be a key issue in energy transformation. At the same time, she also pointed out that non-governmental organizations such as WWF and media such as Phoenix TV can play a greater role in calling on the public to join in climate action.

Tu Ruihe, representative of the representative office of the United Nations Environment Programme in China, believes that the three major crises of global environmental governance reported by United Nations agencies, namely, climate crisis, ecosystem degradation and biodiversity loss, pollution and waste, are interrelated and need to be coordinated, coordinated and promoted. He also pointed out that the key to the solution lies in changing the relationship between human beings and nature, and it is necessary to change the unsustainable production and consumption patterns in the past.

Han Jie, director of climate change and environmental policy of the British Embassy in China, pointed out that Britain has made a lot of efforts to reduce its dependence on coal and develop renewable energy to generate electricity, and is willing to share experience and provide technical support to help developing countries realize energy transformation. Sun Lili, president of Alashan SEE Ecological Association, first pointed out that climate change will have negative impacts on various industries, and these impacts may also be related. As an environmental protection organization composed of entrepreneurs, Alashan SEE Ecological Association will definitely take an active part in coping with climate change and green transformation of enterprises, and strive to make the contribution that enterprises should make.

Subsequently, Xie An, managing partner of Deloitte China Climate Change Service, pointed out that Deloitte has gradually transformed to low carbon by restructuring the operation mode of the enterprise, and achieved carbon neutrality in its operation in fiscal year 2020, and plans to achieve net zero emission in 2030. In the future, Deloitte will cooperate with more research institutions to realize the integration of services, and finally realize the wisdom empowerment of customers and industries and the professional service to the country.

Ping An regards green finance as an industrial development, forming an overall top leader and a top-down overall tone. It will make full use of the two distinctive advantages of finance+technology and full license, supplemented by international experience, actively develop the carbon finance market, and strive to achieve green finance overtaking in corners.

Next, Tian Ming, chairman of LANDSHI Holding Group, pointed out that global climate change requires China’s real estate industry to take the road of energy conservation and low carbon, and energy conservation is consistent with health and comfort. Energy conservation means low carbon, and the proportion of fossil energy in China is still very high. The task of low-carbon emission reduction in China’s real estate and construction industry is very heavy, with a long way to go and a long way to go.
Subsequently, Ma Jun, director of the Center for Public Environmental Research (IPE), released the CATI Index of Corporate Climate Action.
