State Administration of Market Supervision: The unqualified detection rate of online shopping for children’s products is 28.9%.
CCTV News:The sampling results of online shopping for children’s products in 2018 released by the State Administration of Market Supervision today (23rd) showed that among the 462 groups of goods actually delivered, 61 groups of goods had no factory name and address, and 116 groups of unqualified goods were detected, with an overall unqualified product detection rate of 28.9%.
13 home appliance platforms, including JD.COM, Amazon, Dangdang, Honeybud.com, Vipshop, Gome Online, No.1 Store, Baby Friendly Room, Mother and Baby Home, Tmall Mall, Taobao.com, Beibei.com and Mushroom Street, were selected for the quality sampling of online trading children’s products, involving seven categories of children’s products: children’s shoes, children’s toys, children’s clothing, baby diapers, roller skates, toy scooters and baby straps (bags). Among them:
62 groups of children’s shoes were sampled, and 55 groups actually arrived, including 7 groups without factory name and address. After testing, 16 groups were unqualified, and the detection rate of unqualified products was 33.3%.
60 groups of children’s toys were sampled, and 53 groups actually arrived, including 3 groups without factory name and address. After testing, 2 groups were unqualified, and the detection rate of unqualified products was 4%.
39 groups of children’s diapers were sampled, and 39 groups actually arrived. After testing, all the samples were qualified;
40 groups of roller skates were sampled, and 40 groups actually arrived. After testing, 19 groups were unqualified, and the detection rate of unqualified goods was 47.5%.
40 groups of toy scooters were sampled, and 40 groups actually arrived, including 5 groups without factory name and address. After testing, 16 groups were unqualified, and the detection rate of unqualified products was 45.7%.
25 groups of baby suspenders (bags) were randomly selected, and 25 groups actually arrived. After testing, 8 groups were unqualified, and the detection rate of unqualified goods was 32%.
210 groups of children’s clothing were sampled, and 210 groups actually arrived, including 46 groups without factory name and address. After inspection, 55 groups were unqualified, and the detection rate of unqualified products was 33.5%.
Zhou Shiping, director of the Consumer Protection Bureau of the State Administration of Market Supervision, said that the sampling inspection of commodity quality in the circulation field is a targeted sampling inspection. The seven commodity varieties selected for the sampling inspection of online trading children’s products are the targeted targets determined by the market supervision departments of the four provinces (cities) entrusted with the task after analyzing the data of local consumer complaints and reports, and then determined by the General Administration after overall planning and balance. The main purpose of sampling inspection of commodity quality in circulation field is to prevent the risk of endangering personal and property safety. Detection indicators mainly focus on key indicators related to personal and property safety, rather than "full physical examination" of commodities. The published qualified commodities refer to the commodities whose key indicators are qualified.
According to the latest analysis data of the State Administration of Market Supervision, in 2017, there were more than 10,000 complaints and reports about children’s products nationwide, a sharp increase of 36.3% year-on-year, making it one of the fastest growing commodity varieties.
